Seasonal Payment Plans
If you would like to ensure that all of your members pay in full for a defined season of deliveries, we recommend the following payment plans:
Payment in Full
After a member selects their share and options in the sign-up process, they will be asked to pay in full.
- A DISCOUNT may be set up to automatically apply to the total amount owed at checkout from the sign-up process (i.e. the join link). This is a great way to encourage members to pay in full for the season instead of paying in installments.
- A member may also be asked to pay in full if the member chooses to add a share to the existing subscription.
- We recommend that your system Balance Mode be set to Balance Due in order for you to easily monitor who has paid in full for the season. Click here to learn more about balance modes.
- The Pay at Checkout and Pay on Delivery are the most compatible web store payment methods or this payment plan. You may not want to allow members to deduct web store purchases from their Balance on account because then their balance may become negative.
Installments
After a member selects their share and options in the sign-up process, the system will automatically calculate how much the member owes for the season and then divide the total amount into a specific number of installments.
- You may define the number of installments allowed.
- The first installment is due at checkout from the sign-up process. Then you define when the second installment is due. After the second installment is due, any remaining installment will be due on the first of the month for each subsequent month.
- If a member's first installment is due within 20 days of the second installment, the second installment due date will be delayed to the first of the following month.
- The number of installments due will automatically decline depending on the remaining months scheduled for deliveries during the season. For example, if you originally asked us to set up a payment plan for 5 installments and now there are only 3 months of deliveries left in the season, the payment plan will only allow the member to pay in 3 installments. This is to help make sure that members complete all payments before the end of the season.
- A DISCOUNT may also be set up to automatically apply to the total amount owed for the share for the season.
- We recommend that your system balance mode be set to Balance Due in order for you to easily monitor who has paid in full for the season.
- The Pay at Checkout and Pay on Delivery are the most compatible web store payment methods for this payment plan. You may not want to allow members to deduct web store purchases from their balance on account because then their balance may become negative.
- If a member chooses to pay electronically for their subscription, their payment details will be stored via a payment token so that they may be charged automatically when an installment is due.
Monthly Payments
After a member selects their share and options in the sign-up process, the system first calculates how much the member owes for the season. Then when a member selects the Monthly Payments payment plan, the systems asks the member to pay in installments according to the following schedule:
A payment will not be scheduled outside of the scheduled season of deliveries. Here is some additional information regarding the Monthly Payments plan.
- First installment due at sign-up
- Second installment due on the first of the month after the first scheduled delivery for the season
- Additional installments are all equally divided among the remaining months in the season; these installments are due on the first of each month (the first and last dates of the season are determined by taking into consideration the dates scheduled in all delivery schedules for that season)
